I don't play a lot of RPG's but this one is sheer awesomeness. Come to think of it, so is it's sequel.

BOW DOWN TO BRAIN CANDY!!! (or something)
I've been looking forever for someone that I knew who played that game without me telling them about it! Except I (technically) don't own the game. And I never played Chrono Cross.
But I have played Radical Dreamers, which is basicly the same thing. Sort of.

In the event that you don't ask the questions I expect you to, I will answer them early. a. I have a SNES emulator that my friends cousin gave me, that's how I was introduced to the game. b. Radical Dreamers came out before Chrono Cross, only in japan, for some satalite thing for the Super Nintendo. I have the translation for it. Learn more about the game at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radical_Dreamers.

I read about that somewhere a while back. They took the story of Radical dreamers and put it into the Chrono Trigger universe as a sequel, and incorporated elements of it into the plot. And despite what a few disgruntled idiots may say, the incorporation was not haphazard; it worked perfectly well and the plot is far more intriguing than Chrono Trigger. (Not that there's anything wrong with Trigger's plot)

I actully like trigger better. Even though I've never played cross.
Anyway, the Radical Dreamers storyline was already a part of the chrono series. Or at least the main scenerio, for their are many others.
I should get a PS1emu to play chrono cross.

Now they need to make a third one, only Sqauresoft is being a bunch of whores and display narrow tunnel vision with the one idea occuping their thoughts being... Final Fantasy=$... Final Fantasy=$... Yup, screw the whores.

Acording to some site I went on, they might still be making it in japan.
It said something like this: As reported today by RPGFan, Square Enix has abandoned the US trademark for 'Chrono Break.' over two years after the initial filing. While the news broke today, the official abandonment date was way back on November 13, 2003. Interestingly, the name was also trademarked through the Japan Patent Office, but as 'Chrono Brake.' This one is still active, leading one to speculate whether or not it simply has not been abandoned yet, or perhaps 'brake' is the proper name, making 'break' a translation error.
In any case, it's at least good to see Square Enix hasn't forgotten the possible game title... though it's anyone's guess what will come next, or when.
So it might still come out. It better.

I think I saw that exact annoucement about a year ago. I don't think it's going to come to anything. Although one of the main creator of Trigger is making a game called Blue Dragon, it's supposed to be coming out on the XBox 360 sometime in the future.

Heard about that too. But now that Blue Dragon game is coming out by the end of this year, so all isn't completly lost.

Wait, by the whole dream team, or just some of them?
I also once thought of an idea for a good fan game for trigger, but I only have half of the software to make it.

Eh, I think it was most of them. Oh, and now they have screenshots and a preview trailer and such. And if you're thinking of a fan game, Squaresoft would probably try and clamp down on it again.

Not if I never planned on releasing it to anyone (besides the people I know).

It's basicly the story of Janus and how he became Magus. It would make the story much longer than it probably was.

Actually, there is more hope now, since Kato (the director of the Chrono series) said that the big thing that is getting in the way is just the fact that it would be hard to get the entire Dream Team together again, and with out them the game would lose it's touch. So they are kinda thinking about it, even if it's only a little bit.

Regardless, the Chrono series is definetely long overdue for a third installment. Can you imagine what it would be like if such a game were announced? It'd be the biggest game cult banaza in all of video game history.

It's definately not too farfetched at this point. In the new ending of CTDS (said ending which has yet to be announced to be canon, but it's still neat), Magus fights the Dream Devourorer, talks breifly with schala afterwards, then gets sent to the present without his memories.
Kato always did regret not connecting Magus to Guille...
