I've created an exotic number g. The absolute value of g is -1, so |g|=-1. This means that the square root of a number can be less than zero. The absolute value of a number can be complex. Just in case you don't know what absolute value is, it's the distance from zero. |-5|=5, |5|=5. g cannot be by itself, because it's exotic. Try to solve |x|=i, where i=sqrt(-1). Remember, g itself cannot be defined in standard mathematics. | |g| |=1. Because of this exotic number, some equations will have solutions in the exotic plane.

have you ever thought to yourself "Gee, math isn't already confusing enough..." If that ever happens, add 'g' to your numberline and I guarantee you will be thoroughly confused once more.

Because there was no such number to express a negative distance from zero, I created one. Certain equations now have solutions. The answers would then be exotic.

like I said, before you could just write "No solution" but now you have to write 'gee' and hope that you got all your conversions right.

Exotic numbers are cool! Even though I really don't know what they are except that they can't be shown on a number line or even a number plain...
